the Kent Buys Music Fund
The Kent Buys Music Fund is a scholarship fund putting stringed instruments into the hands of aspiring young musicians.
It aims to provide violins and other stringed instruments, completely free of charge, to children in need.
The fund is starting small, but with the help of the Corvallis Masonic Lodge (and your help if you wish to contribute) it will hopefully grow.
Working with local teachers, The Troubadour will identify prospective recipients and provide them with free access to fractional size instruments. When they have grown to need a full size instrument, they will be gifted one to take them forward on their journey through the world of making music!
In time, this may extend to scholarships for free or reduced-cost lessons as well.
Kent has always supported music in our community and encouraged his students, customers, friends and family to, “Play the Music Inside Themselves!”
It is the earnest hope of his son Ryan and the sponsors of this scholarship fund that his continuing legacy of inspiring students and practicing others-centeredness will perpetuate and grow.
